Access of youth organizations and cultural institutions to funds of EU- Programme

In the realization of the project “Access of youth organizations and cultural institutions to funds of EU” we are organizing training for strengthening the capacities of the representatives from youth NGOs and cultural institutions from Prilep. 

The training will last for two days and the main activity of this project is realizing the training for strengthening the capacities of above mentioned participants, in one- people who are involved by their work in the culture. The training will include 20 participants and provide the information’s about the Programme Culture 2007-2013 of the EU, and by practical workshops participants will learn more about writing applications and applying to EU Programme Culture funds.

The themes are Programme Culture 2007-2013 and simulation of writing a project with application to EU.

This training is provided for those participants which will take part in the workgroup of creating a Local Strategy for youth in the field of the culture in facilitation of Coalition of youth organizations SEGA.

The training will be from 24-25 December 2009 , starting 10 a.m.

Multilateral youth exchange “Cultural framework of Europe”

                                                                                        

25 August – 03 September 2009, Prilep Macedonia

In the period of 25 August – 03 September 2009 in the student hostel “Orde Copela” Prilep, Youth Council organized 10days multilateral youth exchange as a part of the project “Cultural framework of Europe” implemented using financial support of the European Commission.

On the exchange 26 people aged 17-30 from Spain, Sweden, Serbia, Italy and Macedonia took participation in order to promote intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding. During the exchange, participants were working and living in multicultural environment in which intercultural and non-formal learning was constantly promoted identifying European values, learning about human rights and upgrading personal and professional capacities that will help youngsters to be promoted in real European citizens.

Programme part of the exchange was consisted of two main parts: educational and creative part. Using different working methodologies participants gained knowledge about human rights, European citizenship, found out what is discrimination and how can we fight against, what is cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue. Youngsters during the event visited many important places in Prilep and its surroundings and met Macedonian folklore and culture.

In the creative part youngsters made presentations of each country they are coming from, its culture and traditions which was used as background for creation of 6 clay sculptures. 5 of the sculptures presented the participant countries and the last one presented Europe – its values and unity. Art pieces were presented in public exhibition in the home of culture “Marko Cepenkov” Prilep.

At the end of the event participants gave their view for what was done so far and gave strong recommendation to create follow up of the project in order to contribute towards creation of quality modules through which we can all learn about human rights in details and to develop new creative social events enabling youngsters to promote European values.

“Cultural framework of Europe”

                                                                                        

Youth Council Prilep started with the realization of the international project “Cultural framework of Europe”. This 4-month project has been funded with support from the European Commission and by Youth Council Prilep. Main aim of this project is promoting and strengthening intercultural dialogue through art and culture, where young participants from 5 countries all over Europe will be involved in a process of intercultural and non-formal learning using art as a key media and methodology. Art as a connecting point will bring youngsters from different cultures together to live and work in multicultural environment, develop personality and creativity, explore and share culture, tradition and way of living.

Main activity of the project is multilateral youth exchange in Prilep, Macedonia in which during 10 working days, 26 young participants from Spain, Serbia, Sweden, Italy and Macedonia will promote non-formal learning through different methodologies and techniques and work together by exploring culture and diversity of the countries involved and visualize gained information’s and knowledge on modeling clay sculptures. They will use the exchange to learn how to become real social and democratic citizens. The exchange will be realized in the period 25 August – 03 September 2009 in Prilep, Macedonia.

As one of the predicted project activities and in order to check project venue and the conditions necessary for successful immaculate implementation of the exchange, Advance Planning Visit was realized in the period 10-12 August 2009 in Prilep, Macedonia.

On the APV participated one group leader per partner organization.  The APV was organized in order to verify all technical and organizational aspects and issues for the main event. Participants checked the project venue, accommodation and working facilities, safety conditions, divide the responsibilities and made other arrangements referred to the main event.

Self-organization as a powerful tool in youth work”

OST training for youth workers and young leaders

Novi Sad, Serbia

July 27th - August 2nd , 2009

Youth Council Prilep in the period of 27 July – 02 August in Novi Sad, Serbia participated in the international training course “ Self-organization as a powerful tool in youth work”. On this event youth workers from North Ireland, Austria, Chez Republic, Poland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Monte Negro, Serbia and Macedonia participated.

This training qualifies for the professional facilitation on open space-events.

This training was conducted as part of “Youth in Action Programme “ of the European Union. The sponsor of this activity was the British Council Connect Youth-the UK`s National Agency in co-operation with Inside Out Project, Claudy/Derry and ONO-Omladinska Nevladina Organizacija, Novi Sad.

This training had four parts. All utilized open space –technology to provide multiple experiences as participant, trainee and facilitator in open space. 

  • The first part was a full open space including finding the theme, setting up the open space together, identifying and working issues, documenting results and planning next steps. This experience in the role of a participant in open space was a key prerequisite of getting into the spirit and methodology of this technology.

  • The second part was an “open space on open space” for reflection and learning on the method and its potential applications as well as on the role of a participant in open space. It was designed as a self-organized learning exchange to critically evaluate the experience of the first part of the training.

  • The third part was an exercise in actually designing a complete open space-event including the diverging and converging phases. One team of participants facilitated the diverging phase, and another the converging phase. The work of both teams was evaluated by the trainers and the entire training course in a structured feedback-exercise.

  • The fourth part at the close of the training was a session providing detailed information on the “nuts and bolts” of open space and answered to aspects of open space that arose during the training.

Self-organized reflection, reading and studying was supported through “learning spaces”, reflection groups and library.

International training 

“Involving youth in the decision making processes”

27 June – 02 July 2009 Ohrid, Macedonia

      

Youth Council Prilep in the period of 27 June – 02 July in Ohrid, Macedonia implemented the international training course “Involving youth in the decision making processes”. The project was supported by the Council of Europe – European Youth Foundation (EYF) and by the Agency for youth and sport of Republic of Macedonia. On the event 31 youth workers from 8 countries of the SEE region participated.

Main aim of this 6 day event was to exchange knowledge, experience and good practices in order to create efficient models and recommendations that will motivate and strengthen youth participation in the decision making processes in particular and in the democratic and social life on local, regional and national life in the SEE countries in general. The event tend to strengthen the capacities of the youth organizations acting on local and regional level and creation of sustainable partnerships on international level,  exchange of good practices and knowledge, support of non-formal learning, creation of solid ground for follow up of the project and long term influence of the project results and outcomes.

Through this event especially in the part of non formal learning participants gained the opportunity to upgrade their personal and organizational capacities and act in future as multipliers of the knowledge and be also key players in the process of motivation and development of the youth participation in their countries.

Beside the working part participants had Ohrid sightseeing where they had the possibility to meet part of Macedonian culture and history and beautiful nature and they were also part of many different social events enabling them to get know to each other and share cultures and values.

Main themes during the training were: European charter and local youth policies; Models of cooperation; Advocacy, lobbing and networking and educational sessions from the manual “All different all equal”.  Participants using diverse methodologies identified the obstacles for effective youth participation and made recommendations in which way youth participation should be supported such as: constant and qualitative information for the opportunities for participation along with its benefits, qualitative formal and non-formal education, sustainable motivation and creation of appropriate legislative that will guarantee and regulate youth participation. 

At the end of the training participants discussed about the possibilities to create follow up of the training in order to enable the possibility to treat the themes and problems of youth participation more essential.

Youth Council – Prilep with support of the European Youth Foundation - Council of Europe and Agency for youth and sport of Republic of Macedonia will realize the international training course: “Involving youth in the decision making processes” in the period of 27 June – 02 July 2009 in Ohrid, Macedonia.

This training is envisioned as an excellent framework in which we will analyze the current situation in the field of youth participation and we will establish and generate new strategies and methodologies for development of youth participation in Macedonia and region of SEE. In one word the aim of this training is to upgrade the capacities of the young people through which we will improve youth participation on local, national and international level in the countries from the SEE region.

The concept for the training course was created by the Youth Council team in cooperation with experts involved in the field of youth participation on local, regional and European level.

English is the official working language of the training.

Mobilization of local resources

The aim of this project is rising conscious of citizens and business sector for their responsibility to decide problems in the community. Collected finance with suggest activity will be use support on work for the youth information center in Prilep. The way that we choose target different sources with collected facilities: business sector, public company, individuals and youth. Beside primary aim, relay finance support for work on MIC, with all included activity, The Youth Council Prilep will develop cooperation with business sector who will secure  material support for implementation future program activities.

We met financial support from VITAMINKA, PRESS 11 OCTOMBER, ZOOMES and BONET.

Tournament in five-a-side football "Youth football tournament"  was maintained under the motto »SEEKING EMPLOYMENT«. 9 team took part on the tournament, "Ninja Zelki" from gymnasium "Mirce Acev" won first place. Rewards were given for the first three positions. For all participants were provided shirts with project logo. Tournament took place in sport center "Markovi Kuli" on 08 and 09.12.2007 year.

Human rights education here & now

This project aims is to contribute to the strengthening of the knowledge and competence in the key concepts of human rights education within young people. The project implementation will take place in the municipalities of Prilep, Bitola and Krusevo with time frame of 9 months.

THE YOUTH HELPERS

In course is implementation of the project who has aim to construct a group of youth helpers, establishment and development on positive way to depose conflict and problematical situation in their community. That will be enable with PEER education - method were the young people’s study how they were help on their contemporary to find way for depose their problems how educe positive thought, to outrun on conflicts and for promote peace and stability. The youth will be introducing with possibility for their choice. Include activity will realize to happen drill 45 youth (school students, students, and participants on youth not-governmental organization) for PEER education. The project will be realized for 3 mounts.

Youth Educative Center

Was finished recently  the project-Youth educative center donated by Caritas.

The aim of this project was to provide long-term support considering the development of the young people. Were formed 3 Educational Teams, was organized one two-day lasting training course for TOT with 12 youngsters, organized 30 workshops which participate more then 300 youngsters on the themes:" Trafficking”, “Harmful consequences from drug abuse” and “HIV/AIDS/and reproductive health”, and established one Youth Educative Centre.
The beneficiaries were 410 people (at least 30% females), which were comprised in their local communities. This project was lasting for 8 months from August 2006 till June 2007.

The work of youth educative center constantly was monitored by Nikolas G. Amado, volunteer from Spain, who had volunteered through the EVS program in the period of 8 months in our organization. Functioning of High - school sector of Prilep

New school year has begun, and big number of young people has already finished with the high – school education, but for many others this is very beginning of their high – school education. In constitution of Youth Council is functioning the High-school sector of Prilep. With the beginning of the new school year, there was established new coordinative structure of the High-school sector, because the most of them have finished the high-school education and have entered to the university, they are in front of new responsibilities and challenges, and we wish good luck to them in their studies. However, the High school sector of Prilep has continued with its ordinarily functioning, but with new coordinative structure, that was nominated on the first meeting held on 18 September this 2006.

The new structure of the high school sector is consisted of:

 The High-school sector is holding its regular meetings in flexible terms, that can be changed depending of the planned activities and projects.
